George Owen Williams (September 1879 – 27 July 1916) was a Welsh semi-professional footballer who played in the Football League for West Bromwich Albion as a half back.[1] He was capped by Wales at international level.[3]
Personal life
[edit]Williams served as a rifleman in the King's Royal Rifle Corps during the First World War and was killed during the Battle of the Somme on 27 July 1916.[2] He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.[2]
