Biography
[edit]Wales was born on 29 September 1995 in Falkirk, Scotland, and grew up in Bo'ness where he attended Kinneil Primary and Bo'ness Academy, before his family moved to Armagh in Northern Ireland in 2007 where he attended the City of Armagh High School.[1][2] While in school, he began acting in his school's productions of Oliver Twist (2008) and Grease (2012).[1] He went on to study performing arts at the Southern Regional College, and at the National Stage Theatre School in County Tyrone from 2012 to 2015.[2][3]
In 2012, he appeared in two episodes of the second series of the Northern Irish television series 6Degrees (2012–2015).[4] In 2013, he produced, co-wrote, and co-directed the short film 2Late, which premiered in Armagh in September 2014,[5][4] and was subsequently released on Amazon Prime Video.[6][7] In 2016, he appeared in an uncredited cameo on "No One", the eighth episode of the sixth season of HBO's fantasy television series Game of Thrones (2011–2019).[8][9] In 2017, he founded a production company called GAW Films after moving back to Scotland from Northern Ireland.[7]
In September 2018, Wales made his debut as a fashion model at London Fashion Week,[9][10][11] further going on to self-publish an autobiography via Blurb, Inc. that same year.[12] In 2019, he starred in the feature film The Deal (2020), which he also executive produced.[13] He was baptised during the production of the film in Oklahoma.[7][6]
In 2022, Wales starred in, co-wrote, and co-directed the short film RAGE for Tubi, for which he received critical acclaim,[14][15] and the Best Actor awards at the London International Film Festival and the Halicarnassus Film Festival in Bodrum, Turkey.[16] The film premiered at the Hippodrome Cinema, Bo'ness in 2023.[17][18]
In 2023, Wales self-published a book of poetry titled Scars: to the ones that got away via Blurb, Inc.[19] That same year, he rebranded GAW Films to Nevis Studios in the United States.[2][6] That same year, he also starred in and co-wrote the feature film God's Christmas Miracle (2023).[2]
