Fuyuan National Forest Recreation Area (traditional Chinese: 富源國家森林遊樂區; simplified Chinese: 富源国家森林游乐区; pinyin: Fùyuán Guójiā Sēnlín Yóulè Qū), also reputed as the “Butterfly Valley”, is located in Fuyuan Village, Ruisui Township, Hualien County, Taiwan.
Geology
[edit]The forest recreation area is located at an elevation of 225–750 metres (738–2,461 ft) above sea level with a total area of 235 hectares (580 acres). It has an annual mean temperature of 23 °C (73 °F).[1] The Fuyuan River passes through the park and Fuyuan Waterfalls is located in the park.[2] The recreation area is equipped with BBQ area, camping ground, jungle trekking trails, etc.[3]
