The Frontier League Mississippi franchise is an expansion baseball franchise of the Frontier League slated to play in the 2025 season.[1] They are located in Pearl, Mississippi, and will play home games at Trustmark Park. The Frontier League is one of several independent baseball leagues that runs through the United States, and into Canada.

History

On September 9, 2024, the Frontier League announced an expansion franchise to Pearl, Mississippi after the Atlanta Braves Double-A affiliate, the Mississippi Braves, was announced to move to Columbus, Georgia.[2] With the addition of the new franchise, it keeps professional baseball in Pearl for the 21st straight year, following 20 years of the Mississippi Braves.[3]

Name the team contest

The team's placeholder name is "On Deck 2025." Fans of the new team are currently being given 3 choices for names; the "Mississippi Mud Monsters," "Mississippi Grits," and "Mississippi Soul Shakers."[4][1][5] A name the team contest runs from September 9 to September 26.[1]
