The Down East Bird Dawgs are an American professional baseball team, founded as an expansion franchise in the Frontier League that is slated to begin play in 2025 in Grainger Stadium.[1][2] They are located in Kinston, North Carolina. The Frontier League is one of several independent baseball leagues that runs through the United States, and into Canada.

History

On September 17, 2024, the Frontier League announced the addition of the Bird Dawgs, the 18th team and the second team in the 2024 round of expansion.[2] Grainger Stadium is being vacated by the Texas Rangers affiliated Down East Wood Ducks.[1][3]
