Football has been a sport at the National Games of India since 1985, while the women's tournament was introduced in 1999.[1] Punjab and West Bengal are currently the most successful states in the men's category with 3 gold medals, while Manipur is the most successful women's team with 5 gold medals.[2][3][4][5][6]
