Because the film was produced in the United Kingdom in 1908, and therefore it's still copyrighted there. (70 years after the author's death, and George Albert Smith (film pioneer) died in 1959.) Armbrust The Homunculus 09:25, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
