English: Torpoint Chain Ferry. Also known as a floating bridge.
This photograph shows "Plym II" from "Plym I" as they pass in the centre of the Hamoaze, the main channel of the River Tamar as it reaches the sea. The ferry charges are the same as the toll on the Tamar Bridge: free to leave Plymouth but a toll to return. See the detailed comment on 64629 for more information.
