Summary
[edit]Description |
Metropolis, with German intertitles. 2010 restoration by Anke Wilkening and Martin Koerber for the Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau Foundation. It expands the 2002 restoration, which uses surviving 35mm elements alongside the incomplete original camera negative, by incorporating 25 minutes of footage from a cropped 16mm reduction print preserved at the Museo del Cine Pablo Ducrós Hicken in Argentina. The Argentinean footage is shown with a black border where the original image was cropped. Intertitles were reconstructed using German censorship records and the typography of the Spanish intertitles. |
