Description
English: Portrait (probably oil on canvas) of Henry John Gardiner (1843–1940), painted c.1920 by Sir Luke Fildes (1843–1927). Gardiner was chairman of Bradbury, Greatorex & Co., cloth warehousers and wholesalers, London EC2, and Sheriff of the County of London 1920-1921. He was the father of the composer H. Balfour Gardiner and the Egyptologist Alan Gardiner.
