English: Fig. 13 from Crumey (2014) https://doi.org/10.1093/mnras/stu992. Magnitude limit m0 as a function of sky brightness μsky, calculated from equation (68) (with FtFMFTF = 3.77, p = 7 mm) for a telescope with clear aperture 100 mm at various magnifications. The cut-off mcut = 12.7 mag is due to the background in the eyepiece becoming effectively zero.
