Summary

[edit]
Media data and Non-free use rationale
Description Orphaned Land's opening track to the concept album Mabool. In this 30 second sample, Kobi Farhi introduces the three angels, central to the album's story, who bore the faces of a snake, an eagle, and a lion, respectively. They were divided from the seventh descendant of the seventh, as described in this sample. This sample is to be used to showcase a commercial concept album and how lyrics typically tell a single, coherent story through the albums' tracks.

Immediate source: I ripped it from an audio CD I purchased from the band's website; the sample was cut on Audacity and converted to an ogg vorbis file.

Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) Concept album
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) This 30 second, low resolution audio sample serves to showcase how n artist may tell a single coherent story throughout an album's runtime, across its tracks. Mabool by Orphaned Land is a very good concept album with which to describe this, as the story is very easy to follow and the lyrics are direct and straight to the point. In this sample, the band introduces the "three sons of seven," mentioned in the album's subtitle ("The Story of the Three Sons of Seven").
Not replaceable with
free media because
(WP:NFCC#1)
I'm not sure there are any notable "free" concept albums that can be used here such that it is easy to identify the song is part of a concept album like this one.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) The sample is less than 10% of the song's running length, and it is compressed to 63 kbs, which is very ow resolution. It will also only be used on this one article, thus making its use minimal
Respect for
commercial opportunities
(WP:NFCC#2)
This is a seven minute song from which I've cut a 30 second sample, which is only about 7% of the song 's running time, or 0.8% of the entire album's running length (62 minutes). Furthermore, the song is compressed to the lowest possible bitrate I am able to in Audacity. There is no reason anyone would listen to this sample recreationally when the full song and album exist in higher resolution on Youtube or Spotify.
