English: UK Biobank is an organisation following the health of 500,000 UK people, initially in the age range 40 - 69 in 2006, which is planned to run for at least 40 years. This is the headquarters in Stockport, but also a centre where volunteers come to give samples and undergo tests including imaging by various techniques. The two tall tanks are probably liquid nitrogen for cooling scanners, and to preserve tissue samples.
