The Fándlyho 11 Primary School (Slovak: Základná škola Fándlyho 11), short ZŠ Fándlyho (11), colloquially Panelka or panelová škola,[1] formerly also known as III. ZDŠ Fándlyho ulica,[2] is a primary school located in the south-eastern part of Pezinok, Slovakia and began its activities in 1959. The current school director is Ing. Monika Hlúšková.
The school consists of a main building with a canteen, gym building and children's school club building (Slovak: školský klub detí, abbreviated ŠKD) and the schoolyard also includes a running track, a basketball court and playgrounds for children. It is located near the judo arena.
In 2016, thanks to the winning Lidl competition, a new Žihadielko playground was added in place of the original socialistic playground and a workout pitch was built next to the playground.
History
[edit]The cornerstone of a twenty-three-class collegiate school in Na pažiti was laid in 1957.[3] On 20 October 1959, the eleven-year school moved to a new building called "Panelka" and on 23 October regular one-session lessons began in it.[4] In the 1959/1960 school year, a secondary school for workers was established here (evening school)[3] and the primary school was attended by 545 pupils divided into 16 classes, 502 pupils were promoted, of which 87 pupils passed with honors and 41 pupils failed, 16 pupils were able to take the exam again. The then director was Marta Fraňová and her deputy was Martin Kováč.[4]
Became a "bázová škola" (Slovak: base school) in 1973, this provided pedagogical consultancy to schools across the entire catchment area (Pezinok, Grinava, Svätý Jur, Limbach, Viničné, Slovenský Grob).[1]
The primary school facility for providing care to children outside of school hours (Slovak: školská družina) construction was approved by Štefan Lovič, the then president of the National Municipal Committee in Pezinok (Slovak: Mestský národný výbor v Pezinku), within the "akcia Z" (action Z) in early 1970s. It was built part-time with brick panels and was put into operation in 1976.[1]
Reconstruction
[edit]During his tenure he underwent several small renovations, but the largest renovation was completed in 2017, when the entire primary school main building with canteen was renovated.[5][6]
