Eyram Tawia

Eyram Tawia is a Ghanaian video game developer, entrepreneur, and co-founder of Leti Arts, one of Africa's pioneering gaming and digital comics companies.[1][2] He is recognized for his contributions to the African gaming industry and his efforts in promoting locally inspired storytelling through video games.[3][2]

Early life and education

Eyram Tawia was born and raised in Ghana. He developed an interest in gaming and programming at an early age.[4] He pursued a degree in Computer Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he gained foundational knowledge in software development and interactive media.[1] During his studies, he worked on several gaming projects, laying the groundwork for his future career.[4]

Career

In 2009, Tawia co-founded Leti Arts, a gaming and digital comics company dedicated to telling African stories through interactive media.[5] Leti Arts is known for creating games such as Africa's Legends, a series of games and comics inspired by African folklore and modern superheroes.[6]

Tawia has been an advocate for the development of the gaming industry in Africa, emphasizing the need for culturally relevant content.[4] His company has collaborated with global and local organizations to promote African digital content.[7]

He is also the author of Uncompromising Passion: The Humble Beginnings of an African Video Game Industry, in which he shares insights into his journey as an African game developer.[8]
