History

[edit]

Excitel was started in 2015 by Vivek Raina along with Victor Francess, Nikolai Gorchilov, and Plamen Petkov with a single mission - Bringing world class broadband experience to each Indian household. Vivek did his MBA from the University of Pune in 2001. He worked in the wireline broadband industry for two decades in companies like Hathway, Reliance Communications, and Digicable, and that is when he realised that there were serious issues hampering the growth of wireline broadband in India. The other three co-founders have also been in the internet business for nearly three decades in Bulgaria. Victor and Nikolai started their Internet company Orbitel (Bulgarian company) which they sold to Deutsche Telekom in 2005.
