Ernest Loyal Hughes Jr. is an American former professional football player who was a center for five seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants. He was selected by the 49ers in the third round of the 1978 NFL draft. He played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and attended Capital High School in Boise, Idaho.[1]
