Elmira City School District is a school district headquartered in Elmira, New York. The district serves the city of Elmira and other communities.

The district is mostly in Chemung County. In addition to Elmira City, the district also includes the Village of Wellsburg, the Southport census-designated place, and a portion of the West Elmira CDP.[1] It also includes the hamlet of Lowman.[citation needed] Towns in Chemung County which the district covers sections of include Ashland, Baldwin, Chemung, Erin, Horseheads, and Southport.[2] Portions extend into Steuben County, where the district includes parts of Caton Town.[2][3]
