Elías Enrique Montiel Ávalos (born 7 October 2005) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Liga MX club Pachuca.
Club career
[edit]Montiel joined the academy of Pachuca in 2019, and worked his way up all their youth categories. He made his senior and professional debut with Pachuca as a substitute in a Liga MX loss to León on 10 July 2023.[1] He won the Bronze Ball award at the 2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup, where Pachuca lost to Real Madrid in the final on 18 December 2024.[2]
International career
[edit]In November 2023, Montiel was first called up to the Mexico U18s for a set of friendlies.[3] He was part of the Mexico U20 squad that won the 2024 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.[4]
