Edward Guiliano Global Center

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Edward Guiliano Global Center is the New York Institute of Technology’s flagship campus building in New York City, located at 1855 Broadway in Manhattan. It is a 145-foot, 12-story, 78,200 square feet modernist education building.[1] It is connected to 1849 Broadway, which is the building right next to it and is also owned by NYIT. In 2012, 1855 Broadway was renamed the Edward Guiliano Global Center in honor of NYIT's third president Edward Guiliano.[2]

History

[edit]

The building was originally constructed in 1904 as a hotel. Designed by Mulliken & Moeller, it is now a part of the New York Institute of Technology's Manhattan campus. The facade was replaced in 1964 for NYIT with a glass curtain wall designed by Horace Ginsbern & Associates.[3][4]
