Early Rust (Latvian: Agrā rūsa) is a Soviet feature film directed by Gunārs Cilinskis. Based on the novel by Elina Zalite, written in 1944.[2]
Рlot
[edit]Latvia, early 1930s. Poor rural girl Elsa comes to Riga in search of work, but she never manages to find something to do. Unexpectedly, she receives an offer from a wealthy entrepreneur, the aging manufacturer Kikulis. There is hope for a new, prosperous life, but marriage becomes a burdensome duty to be close to a stranger. Soon Elsa falls in love with a stranger who turns out to be the son of Kikulis Italo. However, instead of the desired happiness, she ends up in the dock, accused of murdering her husband.
