Some Things to Work On

[edit]

A few preliminary points:

  • Why "believed to have been born" rather than "was born". Is anything in that sentence conjectural?
  • Is Stratford-upon-Avon "Stratford, England"?
  • In what way was the First Folio "infamous"?
  • Were the sonnets left out of the folio "because" they had previously been published?
  • Did Anne Hathaway die in 1609?
  • Don't formulations like "appeared under the title" require an original title like "SHAKE-SPEARES SONNETS" not the modern title "Shakespeare's Sonnets"?
