This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... Jockers is considered to be a key figure in the academic field of digital humanities. His work has been profiled in mainstream media outlets around the world and his book Macroanalysis is considered to have fundamentally transformed literary studies by introducing computational methods that enable large-scale, data-driven analysis of texts, thereby opening up new avenues for research and understanding in the field. Among other things, Jockers co-founded the pioneering Stanford Literary lab with Franco Moretti and the duo were described as the "Lewis and Clark of the literary frontier" by Marc Perry of the Chronicle of Higher Education.
