WASCAL is a leading academic and trans-disciplinary organization designed to tackle climate change challenges in West Africa. This research-focused and capacity building center was founded by the German Government, under the leadership of Germany Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). it is being funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Currently, it operates in 11 West African countries. [1][2]

WASCAL conducts research in the fields of climate, land use, agriculture, ecosystems, markets, livelihoods, and risk management.
