Early life[edit]
Wahid Chan was born A. Wahid Chaniago on July 14, 1921, in Matur District, Agam Regency, as the youngest child of three children. He was raised in Kuta Raja, Aceh, and completed his education at Hollandsch Inlandsche School.
Personal life[edit]
Chan resided in Bogor, West Java, with his wife.[1] While filming Sanrego (1971) in Makassar, South Sulawesi, he died on 20 December 1971, due to lung disease at the age of 50, and was buried in Jakarta, Indonesia.[1]
