  • Comment: A number of references have been inserted, but they are not in fact sources and appear to have been added as a kind of "further reading" rather than as a verification of the information. For instance, the name Vikram Dasgupta does not need a source, but Dasgupta's own website has been added as a source there. The sentence "His 2020 feature documentary Beyond Moving followed the journey of Siphe November, a young South African ballet dancer, from his discovery in the township of Zolani to becoming the youngest principal dancer with the National Ballet of Canada" is not supported by the source national.ballet.ca, and so on.
In addition, all the sources are bare URLs, and references must include some information about what they are – the link provided in the very first decline notice, to this referencing tutorial, explains that.
Please address these issues before resubmitting the draft. bonadea contributions talk 12:24, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: If this is resubmitted again without any attempt to address the reviewer comments, it will probably be rejected with no option to resubmit. bonadea contributions talk 20:35, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: As I said previously we require in-line citations. This is mandatory. See WP:INTREFVE. Qcne (talk) 18:57, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: why did you re-submit with no changes? Qcne (talk) 16:26, 1 September 2024 (UTC)

Vikram Dasgupta is an Indian-Canadian filmmaker recognized for his work in documentaries, short films, and commercials. Born in New Delhi, India, he comes from a family with a rich artistic heritage, including painters, scientists, and dancers and he cites his grandmother's storytelling as a significant influence on his creative development.[1]

After completing his schooling, he earned a gold medal in Fine Arts from the Government College of Arts, Kolkata University in 2000. Subsequently, he moved to Canada to pursue a career in cinema.

The film premiered at the Hot Docs Docsoup in Toronto and was later made available on Apple TV.[4][5][6][7][8][9]

Since 2016, Dasgupta has been working on "Dog-Ma," a documentary about his mother, who feeds over 500 stray dogs daily in New Delhi. The film addresses themes of animal welfare in India and was set for international distribution through Seville International and Entertainment One.

Dasgupta is currently involved in two additional documentary projects:

  • "Who Owns the World": A four-part series examining global ownership and its impact on society, co-produced by Hawkeye Pictures and broadcasters PBS, TVO Canada, and ZDF INFO, Germany.[10]
  • "Vrindavan - City of Widows": An observational documentary focusing on the estimated 15,000 widows living in Vrindavan, India, exploring the cultural practices surrounding their societal status.
