Victory+ is an upcoming free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) service owned by A Parent Media Co. Inc. The service will carry content relating to the Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. including team-produced video content, and in-market streaming of Stars and Ducks games not broadcast by one of the NHL's national media partners—replacing Bally Sports in both cases. The service is set to launch in September 2024, ahead of the 2024–25 NHL season.[3][4][5][6]

In 2023, Diamond Sports Group—parent company of the Bally Sports regional sports networks—filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. As part of the restructuring process, Diamond has negotiated for lower rights fees or rejected some of its broadcast rights deals.[7][8][9][10] On July 3, 2024, Diamond asked the bankruptcy court to terminate its contract with the Dallas Stars.[11]

On July 8, the Stars subsequently announced an agreement with Calgary-based A Parent Media Co. (owner of the children's video platform Kidoodle.TV, and streaming provider for the sports comedy troupe Dude Perfect)[12] to launch a new free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) platform known as Victory+ in September, which will stream all regionally-televised Stars games for free within the team's local market. The service will offer streaming of team-produced ancillary content, which will not be geoblocked.[13][14]

On August 27, 2024, the service added a second team—the Anaheim Ducks—after Bally Sports West's contract with the team expired. The Ducks will also sub-license broadcast television carriage of its games to KCOP-TV.[15][16]

Naming

The name of the service comes from the Dallas Stars, whose main color is "Victory Green," and whose mascot is similarly named Victor E. Green.[17]
