Submission declined on 3 November 2023 by S0091 (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Biography
[edit]Van Ethan Levy was born to an Egyptian-Jewish father and a Mexican-American mother. They were assigned female at birth and from a very early age expressed awareness that this did not reflect their identity. They experienced abuse at multiple conversion therapy camps from age twelve to seventeen, which has led them to be an outspoken opponent of conversion therapy[2].
Levy has an A.A in Psychology from San Diego Mesa College, a B.A in Psychology from San Diego State University, and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. They have developed their own curriculum and teach online continuing education classes[3] at Antioch University. They are on staff at the Mental Health Services Center[4] at MiraCosta College. They have also taught for The Chicago School of Professional Psychology[5].
Their work as an activist[6] for the LGBTQIA+ community led to them creating a list of mental health providers in every state that provide trans affirming care[7]. Their activism work has also included contributions to a gender resources guide in April 2023[8], as well as a Springer Science journal article on pronoun usage in books[9] in 2012.
In 2020, Levy authored Exploring my Identity(ies)[10], an interactive workbook designed for all readers to raise awareness of their own internalized transphobia and many more biases that everyone carries.
In 2021, they released the documentary, Do Something: Trans and Non Binary Identities. The documentary was created to show the realities of navigating the world as a trans and/or non binary person as told from the lived experiences of eight trans or non-binary people[11]. The documentary was created exclusively by trans and/or non-binary people and premiered on Trans Day of Remembrance.
In 2022, Levy organized the inaugural Do Something Identity(ies) conference[12], an inclusive virtual event highlighting the different realities that make up various human experiences. Every presenter and staff member participating in the conference was trans and/or non-binary[13].
Levy currently runs a virtual therapy practice in San Diego, California. Outside of their day-to-day work as a marriage and family therapist, they are a supervisor for pre-licensed MSW, MFT, or PCC graduate students with the Transgender Health and Wellness Center[14]. They spoke at the Black Mental Health Symposium in 2021[15], the California Association for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (CALPCC) conference in 2019[16], and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) Annual Conference in 2020[17].
They were a contributor to the book So When Are You Having Kids: The Definitive Guide for Those Who Aren’t Sure If, When, or How They Want to Become Parents[18] and spoke about the book topic in a KQED podcast in January 2023[19]
