Urban seben or seben urbain, also known as seben-sukali is a music genre which developed in France from the Franco-Congolese Community in the early 2020s. It incompasses & blends in congolese soukous elements like the popular congolese thumb-and-forefinger picking technique "Seben" with modern urban music styles. The genre is characterized by a fast-paced beat, often accompanied by intricate guitar riffs, rhytmic drumming and vibrant love & dance themed vocal harmonies often rapped or sung in lingala and in the french language.[1][2]
Each instrument plays a crucial role in creating a layered and dynamic sound in Urban Seben. The electric guitar often takes center stage with intricate solos and melodic lines, while the bass guitar provides a rhythmic foundation. Drums sometimes deviate from the traditional Cavacha pattern[3] and contribute to a driving beat while changing apreggio and keyboard chords add additional harmonies.[4]

The producer Robinson created in 2022 with the Instrumental "Fayahh (Ayo Girl & Love Me Back Beat)" a commercially successful Urban seben beat which followed multiple mixes including Trinidad Cardona - Love Me Back (Fayahh Beat) and Robinson, Jason Derulo, Rema Ayo Girl (Fayahh Beat).
