UpGuard is an Australian cybersecurity company founded in 2012 with headquarters in Hobart. The company has been in the news for discovering high-profile data breaches and other cybersecurity risks.
History
[edit]UpGuard was founded in 2012 by Mike Baukes and Alan Sharp-Paul. In 2017 it raised 25 million Australian dollars from IAG and Square Peg Capital, among other investors.[1]
Major data breaches uncovered by UpGuard
[edit]- In April 2021, UpGuard privately notified Microsoft that a data breach had ocurred affecting at least 38 million records affecting American Airlines and other companies.[2]
