The untitled Child's Play sequel is an upcoming horror film written by Don Mancini. Serving as a sequel to the 2019 film, the film is set to be theatrically released in the United States by Orion Pictures through Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

Development

[edit]

At WonderCon, Seth Grahame-Smith said that if the 2019 film does well, they would love to make a sequel.[1] Director Lars Klevberg discussed his ideas for a possible sequel:

"For me, this was just trying to make this the best movie possible. Like, never foreshadowing any detailed plan of where you want to go as a franchise. But yeah, for me I think I love the Buddi bear concept".[2]

In August 2020, Klevberg said he would love to make a sequel, but was waiting for United Artists Releasing to act.[3] In March 2023, Amazon shut down United Artists Releasing, with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer distributing instead.[4]

In March 2024, Don Mancini announced he is in early stages of development on a new Chucky movie that would work in tandem with the series.[5]
