Two Minds Crack was formed in 1981 by Kevin Jones and Mark Davies in Port Talbot, South Wales. After being discovered in 1982 by British music newspaper Melody Maker and then signing with Frank Sansom's management company Welsh guitar and keyboard player Pete Martin joined the band.

After relocating from Wales to London the band signed to independent record company Sedition and in 1983 recorded their debut single 'Hunger and the Greed' in with producer Laurie Latham at Manfred Mans Workhouse studio in South London. In early 1984 former X-Ray Spex and Classix Nouveaux drummer BP Hurding joined the band. Soon after the band went into record their second single 'Enemies of Promise' with producer Gus Dudgeon at the Maison Rouge recording studio.

The band's first two singles were released to critical acclaim and caught the attention of New York music maverick, Seymour Stein and his Sire record label. In 1985 drummer BP Hurding left the band to tour the US with The Psychedelic Furs as a drum tech. Back to a three piece and now signed to Sire the band joined forces with production team Dave Hewson and Simon Humphrey to record their debut album 'The Victory Parade' at Eastbourne's ICC studio with ex Wham drummer Trevor Morrell taking over the drumming duties.

The album was released in 1986 with three singles 'Upside Down' Cry Cry Cry' and One Sky Above Us' released in the same year. The video for the single 'Cry Cry Cry' featured heavy rotation on MTV and the single 'Upside Down went to number one in the Philippines and was later covered in 2006 by Philipino band Six Cycle Minds. Disappointed and disillusioned with mis management and the lack of label support the band split in 1989.
