Trigana Air Flight 7321 was a cargo flight from Dortheys Hiyo Eluay International Airport to Wamena Airport. On September 13 2016 the aircraft made a hard landing and both main gears collapsed. The aircraft slid to a stop and ended coming to rest in the grass. All 3 occupants survived but the aircraft was written off
Accident
[edit]The flight was going to Wamena with 14,913 kg of cargo. The flight departed from Jayapura and the flight was uneventful until the landing. The plane made a hard landing, and also both main gears collapsed, that made the aircraft slide to a stop and end in the grass.
Aircraft
[edit]The aircraft was a converted Boeing 737-347SF manufactured in 1986 with registration PK-YSY. At the time of the incident, the aircraft was 37 years-old with 48637 flight cycles and 59420 total airframe hours with serial manufacter number 23597 and line number 1287. The aircraft was first delivered to Western Airlines in 1986 and then delivered to Delta Air Lines in 1987 and then by Cardig Air in 2008 before finally being delivered to Trigana Air in 2011. The aircraft was equipped with two CFMI CFM56-3B1 engines and the aircraft was named Motivation.
