Travis Hearn (born July 30, 1975) is an American pastor, author, musician, and founder of Impact Worship. He is the co-founder and Senior Pastor of Impact Church, based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Hearn was born and raised in the Phoenix, Arizona area. On February 20, 1993, at the age of 17, Hearn was pulled over and arrested for a DUI. After being bailed out of jail, he surrendered his life to Christ and experienced a radical transformation. He credits this moment as the turning point of his life.[1] Hearn graduated high school just months later and went straight into full-time ministry. He holds his Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Phoenix, his Associate of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and received his ministry license from the Assemblies of God.
Ministry
[edit]Hearn served as both a worship pastor and youth pastor before co-founding Impact Church in 2010. The church originally began when Andre Wadsworth of the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals started a Bible study for his teammates. The Bible study quickly grew, was opened to the public, and a church was formed. When Hearn joined as Senior Pastor in 2010, Impact Church was founded.[2]
Under Hearn’s leadership, Impact Church grew exponentially, and in 2013, was named by Outreach Magazine as one of the Top 10 Fastest Growing Churches in America.[3] The church now sees over 10,000 attendees weekly as of 2024, and has a large online presence. In addition to his work at Impact Church, Hearn has served as the Phoenix Suns Team Chaplain since 2002, and previously served as chapel leader for multiple MLB and NFL teams, including the Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, and the Arizona Cardinals.[4][5] In 2020, Hearn founded Impact Worship. Their debut album “Come to Me” was released in 2023, with their first single “He is the Miracle,” reaching #1 on the iTunes Christian music chart.
Public Life and Media
[edit]In November 2022, Hearn suffered a life-threatening stroke followed by a miraculous healing[6] which he recounts in his book, The Fire Is for You. His story has been widely shared on podcasts and various media outlets.
