Overview
[edit]The Trauma Professionals Association (IATP) is a professional organization that focuses on advancing the understanding and treatment of trauma. The organization offers certification programs, training, and resources for professionals working with individuals affected by trauma, including mental health practitioners, educators, and healthcare providers.
History
[edit]The International Association of Trauma Professionals was founded in 2017 and is advised by several trauma specialist[1] with the aim of improving the quality of care for trauma survivors. Since its inception, IATP has expanded to include members from multiple disciplines and countries, promoting international collaboration in trauma education and treatment.
Mission
[edit]The primary goals of IATP are to enhance the understanding of trauma, provide education and training to professionals, and promote evidence-based practices in trauma treatment.
PsyT[2] is the nomenclature added to the certified trauma professional earning the Psychotraumatologist definition.
Membership
[edit]Membership in IATP is open to professionals committed to trauma-informed care. According with it website it has more than 8000 professionals worlwide[3]
