transform! europe is a registered political foundation at European level:[1] and constitutes a network of 38 European organisations from 22 countries, active in the field of political education and critical scientific analysis. It is the recognised political foundation corresponding to the Party of the European Left[2].

Mission

[edit]

transform! europe is a cooperative project of independent non-profit organisations, institutes, foundations, and individuals. It intends to use its work in contributing to peaceful relations among peoples and a transformation of the world[3].

The foundation sees itself as a research institution working on scientifical analysis, critical political research, and the development of policy recommendations.

transform! europe serves as a space for political dialogue between political activists, academics, unions, movements and NGOs.

Work fields

[edit]

transform! europe's work fields are strategic perspectives of the radical left and European integration, marxist-feminist theory, migration and global strategies, strategies against the far-right, productive transformations and socio-ecology, cooperation strategies for Southern Europe, social policies and strategies of the commons and history[4].

transform! europe engages in the Christian-Socialist dialogue project DIALOP[5] and is represented in its coordination with two members.[6] transform! is member of the European Alliance for a Just Transition and of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences CLACSO.

[edit]

In 2015, the first transform! yearbook is published with a focus on "United Europe - Divided Europe"[10]. Published annually, it reflects the foundation's focal points: the radical left and the European integration and disintegration, nationalism, populism, pandemic policies. The 2023 issue deals with the relationship between the left and the state[11].

Around a thousand authors have already written for transform!, not only for the magazine or the yearbook, but also for the website, the newsletter and various thematic discussion papers, (e)publications and dossiers[12].
