Dr. Toula Gordillo (born May 17, 1972) is an Australian clinical psychologist, educator, and researcher. She is known for developing Story Image Therapy (SIT), a therapeutic approach combining storytelling and symbolic imagery to address emotional challenges.

Development of Story Image Therapy (SIT)

Gordillo developed Story Image Therapy (SIT) while working with Education Queensland’s complex youth cases. SIT uses archetypal storytelling and symbolic imagery to assist individuals in processing emotional distress.[1] SIT was trademarked in 2015, and Gordillo has presented her findings at conferences.[2]

  • Shadows of Sylvaheim (2019) – A young adult fantasy novel.
  • The Rise of Jung in Me (2024) – A book exploring her approach to therapy.[3]
