Dr. Titus J. Galama, Ph.D., MBA, is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Southern California's Dornsife Center for Economic and Social Research (CESR)[1] and School of Business and Economics (SBE), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.[2] He also serves as the Director of the USC Center for the Study of Health Inequality[3] and is a Research Fellow at the Tinbergen Institute, Amsterdam,[4] The Netherlands. He holds dual Ph.D.s, one in Astrophysics (cum laude, 1999) and the other in Economics (cum laude, 2011), both from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands and an MBA from INSEAD, France/Singapore (2003). Dr. Galama's multidisciplinary expertise encompasses astrophysics, business, management, policy analysis, economics, and social-science genetics. He has made significant contributions across various domains, including groundbreaking insights into gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) in astrophysics[5] and pioneering work on understanding health disparities by socioeconomic status, integrating economic principles and social-science genetics methodologies. Dr. Galama has been recognized for his collaborative astrophysical research, including a study acknowledged by science magazine as among the top ten scientific discoveries of 1997 and 1999.[6]
