timp (Pittsburgh music artist)
[edit]Timothy Edward Pisula (born April 7th, 2002), known professionally as timp or TimP Music, is an independent artist from Pittsburgh, PA. [1][2]
Known for his emotive songwriting since his debut in 2022, he released his first song, "For You," on SoundCloud on March 31, 2022, and later on YouTube on July 26, 2022. His early work includes the "Be Yourself EP," released on August 1, 2022.[1] This debut EP established timp as a reflective and personal artist, exploring themes of self-identity and authenticity. The tracks blend heartfelt lyrics with raw, unpolished production, creating a genuine connection with listeners. This project laid the foundation for timp's musical journey and set the tone for his introspective songwriting style.[3]
Reach for the Stars
[edit]His first mixtape, "Reach for the Stars", debuted on September 9, 2022, followed by a Deluxe Edition on September 20. timp's first mixtape marked a more ambitious effort, with themes of perseverance and ambition driving the narrative. The "Spotify Edition" added polish to his earlier releases while the Deluxe Edition brought additional tracks that further delved into his aspirations and challenges. Overall, the project showcased his growing confidence and expanding sound palette.[3]
between the old & new
[edit]In late 2022, timp began the rollout for his second mixtape, "between the old & new," with the single "don't call me!" released globally on October 28, marking his first song available on all major streaming platforms. This mixtape represented a transitional phase in timp's career, as he embraced new influences while staying true to his roots. The project balanced introspective ballads with upbeat tracks, signifying his artistic evolution.[3] The mixtape was released globally on November 11, 2022.
He also released a Christmas project on December 9, 2022, followed by the single "This Year" on December 30. In 2023, timp first gained major attention with the singles, "you." from the "All Love EP" and "On the Road," which the latter was accompanied by a music video.
21
[edit]His album "21" was released on his 21st birthday on April 7, 2023. This album was a personal milestone for timp. It reflects on the lessons, growth, and struggles of his journey into adulthood. With a mix of celebratory tracks and introspective storytelling, "21" offers a deeply personal perspective, resonating with listeners navigating similar life transitions.[3]
The Mountain Mob
[edit]A collaborative project featuring members of Mountain Mob Records was released on July 28, 2023.[4] This collective effort showcased timp's collaborative spirit and highlighted the talents of his peers. The project brought diverse voices and styles together, creating a dynamic and eclectic mix of tracks. It demonstrated timp's versatility and willingness to experiment within a group setting.[3]
Throughout 2023, timp released various singles with different styles, most notably a Halloween-themed song, "SCR3AM!," released on October 24 and "Celery Juice", which was accompanied by a music video on June 2. He also released an alternative track, titled "Break Through" and the original lead single to Reach for the Stars 2, "REMINDERS". Both songs, while originally pitted to land on the album, failed to make the final tracklist for unknown reasons.
Reach for the Stars 2 & First to the Moon EP
[edit]Surprise released on November 3, First to the Moon EP (2023) acted as prelude to his first studio project, Reach for the Stars 2. In February of 2024, Reach for the Stars 2 was announced with a Trailer after being initially teased and delayed throughout the fall of 2023, followed by a Remastered Edition of the first Reach for the Stars (2022).
Reach for the Stars 2 was released on March 15th, 2024.[5] The album spawned numerous singles such as OUTER SPACE (Intro) & I STILL DREAM OF YOU, both were accompanied by music videos that coincide each other.[6][7]
between the old & new 2
[edit]"between the old & new 2" released in August 2024, showcases timp's growth and versatility, blending introspective lyrics with diverse musical styles regarding his feelings of graduating college and moving into the real world.
The album opens with "graduation," setting a reflective tone that continues throughout the project. Tracks like "for the boys" and "shadow man" delve into themes of friendship and personal struggles, while "sunset on state" offers a nostalgic look at past experiences. The most notable song, "hit my phone", discusses an experience timp has had with a girl over an upbeat, pop instrumental. Further, collaborations such as "split" featuring Lizzle and "game" with Camdy Man Cam & Snedz add variety and depth to the album.
Two Ls Make a W
[edit]His recent release, "Two Ls Make a W"[8], includes currently popular tracks such as "Close 2 U," "Keep It Safe," and "hold me down." This album marked a shift toward a more polished and mature sound. Thematically, it focused on resilience and finding silver linings in life's challenges.
The title symbolizes the initials of his significant other and turning losses into wins, the tracks reflect this ethos through uplifting beats and empowering lyrics. To begin 2025, he released the single "The Keys (feat. Deez)", presumably for the Deluxe Edition of Two Ls Make a W (Deluxe).
While not releasing music, timp maintains an active online presence, engaging with his audience through platforms like Instagram and YouTube. His YouTube channel features music videos and other content related to his music career.
Background & Personal Life
[edit]timp maintains a relatively private personal life but remains deeply connected to his surrounding communities, often collaborating with local creatives and supporting music initiatives.[2]
From an early age, he developed a passion for music, listening to The Beatles with his father, playing clarinet and singing in his elementary school's band and chorus. As a mostly self-taught musician, timp first began experimenting with music production in Late 2021.[9]
timp began releasing globally to streaming services in late 2022 with “don’t call me!”, the second single to his sophomore mixtape, between the old & new. Since then he has released numerous solo projects and collaborations.[1]
