Time Spent Driving is an American melodic indie/emo rock band from Santa Cruz, California, originally formed in 1999.

History

[edit]

The group's debut EP, Walls Between Us (2000), was released on Sessions Records.[1] Two of the tracks, Glass Rose and Here With You were featured on the soundtrack to Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding in 2001.[2]

The group went on to release their first full length album Just Enough Bright in 2002. Followed by announcing their hiatus in 2003,[3] and subsequently breaking up in 2005.[4] Intended as a swan song record, I’m Your Stab in the Back was released in 2007 containing new tracks, along with demos and unreleased songs.

In early 2012 the band reformed with their original three members and began writing new material. After signing with Cardigan Records in 2015, they released their third album, Passed & Presence on 21 July 2015.[5]

Following Passed & Presence, they began working on their next album ESTRANGERS. Initially releasing a five track EP, Estrangers Vol. 1 (2020),[6] followed by a full length album ESTRANGERS (2023) which contained the five tracks from vol 1, along with five new song.[7]

The group is currently working on the next album scheduled for release in 2025, and released a track from the upcoming album, Excuse the Irony on 25 October 2024.[8]
