Tiffany Monique James (born November 25, 1994) is an American investor and entrepreneur. She is the founder and CEO of Modern Blk Girl. James has turned her initial investment of $10,000 into more than $2 million.[1] [2]

Early life

In 2019, James was working in the fashion and hospitality industries in New York City when she first opened a brokerage account.[3]

In 2020, the platform first launched on Clubhouse with 500 users but that number has since climbed to over 200,000.[4] James and Sharlea Brookes found social refuge in the audio-only app, Clubhouse.[5] Modern Blk Girl has grown its community to more than 150,000 members and helped women of color earn more than $3.5 million in the stock market.[6]

Investments

James has also continued to grow her personal investments, pulling in $4.3 million in a bear market.[7]

Awards and honors

In 2022, James was named the recipient of the Rising Star Award for The Motley Fool’s Women in Investing.[8][9]
