Thomas Gravatt is a British politician for the Liberal Democrats. In May 2024 Gravatt was elected as a City Councillor on Southampton City Council representing the Swaythling ward, overturning a Labour majority from 3rd place.[1] He is the Liberal Democrat’s current parliamentary candidate for Southampton Test in the 2024 United Kingdom general election. [2]

Early life and education[edit]
Gravatt was born in Bristol and grew up in North Somerset. Gravatt then moved to Southampton in 2014 to attend the University of Southampton, graduating with a degree in Modern History and Politics in 2017.[3]
Political career[edit]
Gravatt was selected as the Liberal Democrats prospective parliamentary candidate for Southampton Test in the 2017 general election, the youngest candidate for the Liberal Democrats in the UK.[4]
At the 2024 local elections, Gravatt was elected to represent Swaythling ward on Southampton City Council. He gained a seat from the incumbent Labour member, and currently sits on the council.[5]
Gravatt is the Liberal Democrats current Parliamentary candidate for the Southampton Test constituency in the 2024 United Kingdom general election. [2]
Political views[edit]
As councillor, Gravatt is campaigning to improve road safety in the Southampton area and to secure investment in local facilities. If elected as MP for Southampton Test Gravatt has promised to work to secure more funding for the National Health Service, fight against Climate change, and improve Southampton for the better. [6]
