Theressa is a community in Bradford County, Florida.

Barent E. Van Buren served as postmaster after serving in the Civil War and moving from Illinois.[1]

The Georgia Southern and Florida Railroad Company's tracks passed through the area.The International Ocean Telegraph Company also paid taxes to a specials school district in the area in 1903.[2]

Several elevation measurements were recorded in the area.[3] Peter Monroe Hagan, a prominent sheriff in Florida, died in Theressa.[4]

Hope Baptist Church Cemetery is in the area.[5] Theressa is near the Santa Fe Swamp Conservation Area and the Palatka Lake Butler State Trail.

In 1978 it was listed as Theressa precinct (No. 6) in the Township Atlas of the United States.[6]
