[edit]The Oriole Bird is the mascot for the Baltimore Orioles baseball team. He is a large black and orange oriole who entertains fans at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
History
[edit]On April 6, 1979, The Oriole Bird hatched out of a giant egg at Memorial Stadium and became the official mascot of the team. It took them 25 years to design him. A rough sketch was made by Jim Hartzell in 1954.
