The International Media Institute "Negah" is a media organization established in 2020 with the aim of raising public awareness on international issues by presenting an alternative narrative to what is covered in the mainstream media of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It addresses topics that are often overlooked, whether broad themes like the Uyghurs or specific details such as the Palestinian issue, which have not been presented to the audience in the right context or through innovative formats.

The activities of the Negah Media Institute are divided into two main areas: narrating Iran for foreign audiences under the brand "Iran Screenshot," and narrating international issues for Iranian audiences under the brand "Screenshot."

The media brands under the Negah Institute include:

Screenshot: Short-form Persian productions

ScreenDoc: Long-form and documentary Persian productions

ScreenPodcast: Live Persian programs

History

Since 2020, Mohammad Samsami and Seyed SarBaz Ruhollah Razavi began their media activities on the Screenshot platform on Instagram by narrating the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan. They later expanded their work by hosting online discussions on current international issues with various experts. Over the years, they have traveled to countries such as Afghanistan, Qatar, Lebanon, and Bosnia for content production and documentary filming. One notable trip was to Lebanon one week after the start of the Al-Aqsa Storm battle, which resulted in daily videos of events, war-related meta-narratives, and numerous news reports.[1]

Since the fall of 2022, with Razavi and Samsami as hosts, Screenshot began narrating international topics for a domestic audience. Since then, two additional hosts have joined. The platform is active on most social media networks, with a total audience of over 110,000 followers. Each video garners over 130,000 views across platforms, and the total views since its inception exceed 30 million, which is remarkable given its niche focus.

Program: Meydan[3]

From the early days of the Al-Aqsa Storm operation, the live analytical and specialized program "Meydan" has been broadcast on the institute's dedicated internet platforms. To date, over 200 episodes have been released. The program's YouTube channel has been blocked three times due to platform restrictions. The show has gained attention from international media outlets like BBC and Iran International for its coverage of the latest developments in the Gaza war and uncensored discussions with experts. Each episode averages over 50,000 views, with a total of 10 million views across all episodes.

Launched in the fall of 2022 following the "Woman, Life, Freedom" protests, Iran Screenshot aims to present an accurate media image of Iran to international audiences. It releases three videos weekly on developments related to Iran. The platform has over 16,000 followers, with each video reaching over 20,000 views across platforms. The total views since its inception exceed 3 million.
