Thanzyl Thajudeen

Thanzyl Thajudeen is an active advocate for the public relations and communications industry. He is the founder and managing director of Colombo-based Mark and Comm Ltd.[1] leading serving brands ranging from agri, apparel, retail and FMCG to edu, tech, tourism and hospitality.

In August 2024, Mark and Comm partnered with ZeroPlastic Movement to raise awareness of plastic pollution[2], and with Women in Tech Sri Lanka to strengthen women’s participation in STEM[3].

Thajudeen is also involved with the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) serving in its Education Advisory Board[4] and Membership Committee in addition to being the country representative for Sri Lanka[5], and with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) in its Professional Standards standing committee[6] and CIPR International Committee[7]. He also serves as a Board Member of PRCA Asia Pacific[8]

Participated in the Judging Panel for PRCA APAC Awards 2023[9] and 2024, and PR Awards Asia-Pacific 2023 and 2024 by CampaignAsia and PR Week.[10]

Thajudeen was also named among Campaign Asia-Pacific’s 40 Under 40 for 2024.[11][12]

In Sri Lanka, he carried out annual surveys among PR agency leaders and practitioners in the PR industry[13] and the country’s first PR industry webinar. Thajudeen also advocates for Sri Lanka’s dire need to elevate its PR profession[14][15], uplift its advertising and marketing ethics and standards[16] and urges policymakers and stakeholders to address key issues in its media industry.[17]

Thajudeen is a member and an accredited PR practitioner of the CIPR, and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)[18] and Chartered Management Institute (CMI). He holds an Executive MBA from the University of Colombo.[19]
