The Seventh-day Adventist Hospital in Tamale is a healthcare facility with a capacity of 127 beds. It operates under the auspices of the North Ghana Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ghana, West Africa.[1][2]
The Tamale Adventist Hospital initially faced challenges due to poor accessibility and distance from the main township, resulting in low attendance. To address this, the hospital relocated to a more accessible location in Changli, Tamale. The new facility was constructed with support from the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and volunteer teams. It was commissioned in 2004 and officially became a hospital in 2005.
Under the leadership of Dr. John O. Odiase and subsequent directors, the hospital made significant progress in infrastructure, equipment, and human resources. Attendance increased yearly, and the hospital gained trust from the community. Notably, a satellite medical facility was established in the Upper West Region.
Dr. Isaac Boamah and Pastor George Kossi-Ekao Amouzou played key roles in the hospital's management, with Pastor Amouzou later appointed as the first CHAG regional representative for the Northern Region. In 2022, Dr. Victoria Olubunmi Aboungo assumed the role of medical director.
The hospital's Christian values and commitment to service have made it a reliable healthcare provider, with an annual average of 70,000 patients treated.
