The coat of arms of the municipality of Tekax is one of the symbols that represent this Yucatecan city. The coat of arms graphically shows the history, faith and tradition of the town.

The coat of arms of Tekax is represented by a field where the hill with the hermitage of San Diego de Alcalá is shown, surrounded by a wall, in the center there are five columns from the archaeological zone of Chacmultun and below a field with the jungle with abundant trees, which recalls the toponym of the municipality.

At the bottom there is a motto that says Tekax, the name of the municipality and the municipal seat.[1]

In the center is a gold star with the name of the town of Tekax in a circular shape that represents the town and the twenty-five small stars are the surrounding towns within the municipality.

When the city of Tekax became a town in 1823, it was granted a flag, which was raised on the morning of October 28 of the same year. At the time Tekax was one of the five constituent elements of the districts of Yucatán that were located in the south of the state, in 1941 it was presented again to the town hall of the party.[2]
