Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma[1] (Hindi डॉ. सुनील कुमार शर्मा )(born 01/11/1975) is a renowned technologist as well as a Hindi poet and writer[2]. Having the advantage of viewing at the earth’s flora and fauna and the rapid changes in the society and environment through the lens of a technologist, his poetry primarily explores both the positive and negative impacts of the fast technological advancements. His poetry also sheds light on their potential to disrupt relationships, creativity, and societal structures. His celebrated poem Kya Kar Jayengi Machines (What Machines Can Do with Us) reflects concerns similar to those raised by thinkers like Prof. Yuval Noah Harari and Mustafa Suleyman, imagining a future where machines challenge human norms and redefine experiences. His career exemplifies a unique blend of technical proficiency, literary creativity, and a commitment to advancing society.
Dr. Sharma’s works seamlessly merge poetic artistry with philosophical inquiry, fostering dialogue on the ethical implications of technology while reflecting a deep understanding of cultural heritage and human emotions subtly intertwining his rural life nostalgia. - He graduated in Mechanical Engineering and earned the postgraduate degree of Master of Technology from IIT Delhi.
- Later on he was conferred Ph.D by the Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India.
Career
[edit]Professionally, Dr. Sharma has held key leadership roles, including Executive Director[1] (Quality Assurance). He also served as Director (Production) at Braithwaite & Company Limited, where he played a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency and production excellence. With over two decades of experience in railroad transportation, he brings extensive expertise in operations, maintenance, manufacturing, quality assurance, and digital innovation.
