Steven H. Nigro is an American financial executive, founder, and Managing Partner of TAG Financial Institutions Group, LLC, a consulting and advisory firm.[1][2][3]
Early life and education
[edit]Steven attended George W. Hewlett High School, graduating in 1978, and later attended the University at Albany.[4] He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York and holds several licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), including General Securities Principal, Financial and Operations Principal, and Investment Banking Representative licenses.[1]
Career
[edit]Steven began his finance career as a senior auditor at Ernst & Young from 1982 to 1985. He then served as a manager at EF Hutton from 1985 to 1987.[5] In 1988, he joined OTA Limited Partnership (formerly Ocwen Trading Inc.) as chief financial officer and partner, a role he held for five years until 1993.[6] Afterward, he spent a year as managing director at Cantor Fitzgerald from 1993 to 1994.[7]
From 1995 to 1998, Nigro served as chief financial officer at Tower Insurance Company, overseeing financial operations.[1] He then joined Dowling Hales as managing director from 1998 to 2002, focusing on advisory services. In 2005, he took on the role of chief operating officer and head of investment banking at Pfife Hudson Group, where he managed investment banking operations until 2011.[8]
Following his time at Pfife Hudson, he served as managing director at Allegiance Capital from August 2011 to September 2012, leading its financial services division.[8] In September 2012, he co-founded TAG Financial Institutions Group, where he currently serves as managing partner.[9][10][11] Additionally, since June 2007, Nigro has held the roles of lead independent director and audit committee chairman at Maiden Holdings Ltd.[12] He also briefly served as director and audit committee chairman for Clear Blue Insurance Group from October 2015 to September 2016.[13][14]
